Urla Wine Route Day Tour — Teos & Sığacık

We pick up our guests in the morning at the designated time and meeting point and set out for Sığacık, which represents the peaceful and authentic character of the İzmir Peninsula and is one of Türkiye’s first settlements to receive the Cittaslow, or Slow City, title.

Our first visit is to the Ancient City of Teos, one of the important port cities of ancient Ionia, with a history extending back to the 1st millennium BCE. During the visit, accompanied by an expert guide, the region’s history of trade, art, and viticulture is explored through the ancient theatre, agora, and city walls.

The route then continues to Sığacık Castle and the Old Town, surrounded by walls built in the 16th century. After free time to experience the local atmosphere through its narrow stone streets, restored traditional houses, and local producer stalls, we meet for lunch and enjoy authentic and traditional flavours.

In the afternoon, we turn toward the Urla Wine Route. Our first stop is MMG Winery, known for its innovative production approach and modern facilities. We enjoy a tasting from a special selection of full-bodied, long-lasting, and complex wines.

The final stop of the day is Statera Wines, distinguished by a production philosophy that highlights the natural balance of the grapes.

After the tasting hosted by this producer, whose passion for wine lies at the heart of its philosophy, we conclude the tour and return to İzmir.
